A Heartwarming Visit to Riverbend Retirement Village
On June 11th, our team at Sistability had the pleasure of visiting the wonderful residents of Riverbend Retirement Village. This special visit was an opportunity to connect with the community, share how we can support their aged care journey, and enjoy a morning of meaningful conversations. The day was filled with warmth, delicious treats, and a sense of camaraderie that exemplifies the heart of what Sistability is all about.
A Warm Welcome
The morning began with a warm welcome from the staff and residents at Riverbend. Our team, led by Aged Care Manager Jenn, was eager to meet everyone and start building relationships with the residents. Riverbend is a community that values its residents and fosters an environment of care and support, so it felt like the perfect place for us to introduce Sistability’s services and explain how we can help with their unique needs.
As the residents gathered, the atmosphere was lively, with people chatting and exchanging stories. Our team was just as eager to engage and hear about their experiences and any concerns they might have about their aged care needs. It was clear from the start that Riverbend was a place where people felt at home and truly valued. We were excited to be part of their day and to offer something special in return.
Jenn’s Presentation
At the heart of our visit was a presentation led by Jenn, our Aged Care Manager. Jenn has been an integral part of the Sistability team, and her passion for providing quality care was evident as she spoke to the residents about the services we offer. The goal of the presentation was to explain who we are, what we do, and how we can assist with their aged care journey.
Jenn covered a range of services that Sistability provides, from domestic cleaning to gardening and general support services, all designed to help individuals live in the comfort of their own homes while receiving the care they need. She also spoke about the importance of flexibility and how we tailor our services to the unique needs of each individual. Jenn’s approach was personal and empathetic, which resonated with the residents, many of whom were interested in the ways we could provide support in their daily lives.
A key focus of the presentation was to show how Sistability’s staff members, like Molly, who is one of our domestic care specialists, are often the “eyes and ears” on the ground. In many cases, our team members become familiar faces for clients and play an important role in identifying potential health or safety concerns that may arise. This holistic approach is especially important for aged care clients, who rely on trusted professionals to look after their wellbeing.
Morning Tea and Connection
After the presentation, we transitioned into a more informal part of the visit: enjoying a light morning tea together. We had prepared a selection of delicious goodies for the residents, from fresh fruit platters to homemade baked treats and savoury snacks. The spread was designed to cater to a variety of tastes and preferences, ensuring everyone could enjoy a little indulgence while catching up with friends and neighbours.
As we shared the morning tea, it was clear that the residents were not just interested in the food, but in the chance to connect and ask questions. Our team was more than happy to answer any queries and engage in meaningful conversations about the services we offer and how we could assist with their individual care needs. The morning was filled with laughter, stories, and an exchange of ideas, which made it all the more enjoyable.
One of the highlights of the morning was when we made sure everyone was entered into our Winter Warmer Hamper competition. We wanted to make the visit extra special by offering a little something to show our appreciation for the warm welcome. The Winter Warmer Hamper was filled with cozy, comforting items perfect for the colder months, including blankets, hot water bottles, and a selection of teas. The idea behind the hamper was to offer a little extra warmth and care during the winter season, which is so important for seniors.
Building Relationships
Our visit to Riverbend wasn’t just about introducing Sistability’s Aged Care Support services – it was about building relationships with the residents and letting them know we’re here to support them. Aged care isn’t just about providing practical services; it’s about being there for people when they need it most. Whether it's helping with cleaning, offering companionship, or ensuring that someone feels safe and comfortable in their home, our team at Sistability is dedicated to providing the highest level of care with empathy and respect.
We were thrilled by the positive feedback we received from the residents, who appreciated the opportunity to learn more about how we can assist with their aged care needs. Many expressed interest in our services and asked how they could get in touch with us for further information. This is exactly the kind of engagement we aim for – people feeling comfortable and confident in the care we provide.
A Lasting Impression
As we wrapped up our visit, we left Riverbend Retirement Village feeling grateful for the opportunity to connect with such a lovely group of people. Our team felt that the morning was a resounding success, not just because we were able to showcase what we do, but because we had the chance to make a meaningful impact on the lives of the residents.
Our visit to Riverbend was a reminder of why we do what we do – to make a difference in the lives of those who need it most. The relationships we build with the people we serve are at the heart of Sistability’s mission, and we look forward to many more visits like this one.
