New NDIS Funding Periods: What You Need to Know
If you or someone you support is on a new or reassessed NDIS plan, you may notice a big change: funding is now being released in smaller chunks throughout the year. These new “funding periods” could impact how and when you can access important services like cleaning, gardening, therapy, or assistive technology. In this blog, we break down what’s changing, how it might affect you, and what you can do to stay supported.

What happens if you don’t use your allocated NDIS funds?
Once your current NDIS plan ends, your funds stop. And any unspent funding will NOT roll over into your new plan.
After each plan review, you will receive a new plan outlining supports and funds for the next period of time. While you have the choice and control to spend your funds strategically throughout the year, you cannot roll over unspent money.
What does this mean for you? Simply put, use it or lose it!
